As of January 1, 2022, all licensed healthcare providers in the U.S. are required to provide estimates for the costs of your care. The Good Faith Estimate (GFE) shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs and treatment. This will be provided by this office upon scheduling and/or as requested (due within 3 days of request). This Good Faith Estimate does not include unexpected costs that could arise during treatment.
The intent of the law is to protect you from surprise billing and "unexpected surprise charges". We have and will always maintain transparent pricing and simple billing with payment due at time of service without any surprises after this time. We do not send patients a bill. Invoices are always available in your patient portal so that you can review the services provided and payments made at any time. We are still required to provide you with this document, by law.
If your bill is $400+ more than the expected charges included in the GFE, you may start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days of the date on the original bill.
