We believe in an inclusive, safe, judgement free space.
- We work hard every day to make sure Pelvic Pride is a warm, welcoming, and safe space for all of our patients. We have a
zero-tolerance policy around hateful language or discriminatory remarks. We want every patient to feel safe to
share their story without fear of judgment.
We believe in one-on-one care that takes a whole body approach that considers biopsychosocial factors.
- Each treatment session you will be working with your expert pelvic floor therapist, one-on-one in a
private treatment room to ensure complete privacy. During that time, we will ask questions and perform assessments that take into consideration you as an entire person,
not just your pelvic floor. This means we may ask about your work or home environment, look at how your feet or jaw impact your pelvic floor, and provide you with treatment and exercises that
go beyond the pelvic floor itself.
We believe our plan of care should be both intentional and functional.
- As we are designing your individualized plan of care, we are not utilizing a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach. We will take into consideration your specific concerns and needs to
tailor a program to you. As we progress through your treatment we will focus on functional movements and ensure you are able to
return to the activities you love without fear of symptoms.
We believe pelvic therapists are facilitators, not fixers.
- Trust us, if we could
wave a magic wand and fix everyone's issues, we would! Unfortunately that is not how pelvic floor therapy works. We are here to facilitate your care and
work together with you (and your body) to make
progress towards your goals.
We believe that the patient's goals are our goals.
- We know that
not everyone has the same goals. Some patients come to therapy for help returning to running while others want to go for a hike without pelvic heaviness, some want to be able to pick up their kiddo without pain while others want to navigate intimacy without anxiety. No matter what your goals are, we will make those our goals too and we will
work together to reach them!
We believe the best clinic environment comes from a team approach.
- This is why Pelvic Pride is built on a team of Physical & Occupational Therapists. Together during our
weekly mentorship time, we are able to bounce treatment ideas off each other, gain new perspectives on our care, and
stay up-to-date on the latest treatment approaches in both fields. We also call upon our greater Baltimore provider teams in the area which include physicians, nurses, chiropractors, mental health therapists, sex therapists, doulas, midwives, acupuncturists, craniosacral therapists, and more. We are happy to help quarterback your care and provide referrals to other providers, as needed.
We believe patients should feel seen, heard, and empowered.
- We are so tired of
medical gaslighting and our patients feeling like no one has truly heard what they have to say about their symptoms.
The person who knows your body best is YOU and that is why we are here to listen. There is truly no bigger compliment at Pelvic Pride than when a patient says
they finally felt like someone has listened to them and understands what they are experiencing. It will always be our goal for every single patient to feel seen, heard, and empowered by their pelvic floor therapist.
